EngageMedia recently travelled to Flores, an island in eastern Indonesia, to document participatory video workshops conducted by the Kelola Foundation.
From 24-26 August, EngageMedia participated in the Southeast Asia Video for Change Forum, which was held as part of the Freedom Film Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
July was a busy month for EngageMedia in Myanmar as there were two technology camps that I had to attend as a speaker and trainer. These were the Pyay Barcamp and Tech Camp 2016 in Mandalay.
In July 2015 more than thirty leaders in the Video for Change field gathered in Tepoztlán, Mexico, for the second global meeting of the Video4Change Network. The Video4Change Network is a global consortium of non-profits advancing the use of video and technology for social change.
Camp Chindwin, our Southeast Asia Video Camp, brought together over 30 video activists, citizen journalists, and filmmakers in Myanmar in June this year, and I’m still trying to digest all the excitement from finally seeing it happen, and the reflections I’ve had afterwards.
