In line with the international celebration of World Internet Day, EngageMedia on October 30 launched Tech Tales: Films about Digital Rights in the Asia-Pacific, a collection of eight films that highlight human rights stories in the digital age.

EngageMedia is hiring a Digital Rights Manager (Thailand) who will oversee and lead digital rights and digital safety initiatives in the country, and support EngageMedia initiatives in the Mekong region more broadly. As part of our digital rights team, the role will lead trainings, develop networks and partnerships, plan and implement project initiatives, and assist with the broader digital rights program strategy.

As part of EngageMedia’s campaign to mainstream digital rights in Thailand, EngageMedia interviews Thitirat Thipsamritkul, a lecturer from Thammasat University’s Faculty of Law, about the state of digital rights in Thailand and why the Thai public should pay attention. To commemorate International Seed Day, Cinemata, Freedom Film Network, and the Malaysian Food Security and Sovereignty Forum have curated a video playlist of six films on seed saving and its connection to the farmers' struggles in Southeast Asia. The full playlist will be available for viewing from April 23 to 26, 2021. After this date, only select films will remain on Cinemata.
