From smart devices to targeted advertising and curated newsfeeds, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies is growing in Southeast Asia, home to 463 million internet users who are spending more time in online spaces.

The increased adoption of AI technologies in the region raises questions on AI governance: how do we set rules for the use of AI to protect people against possible harms?
