Three New Materials from the Video4Change Network

Video4Change Logo

In March 2014, the Video4Change network produced three more guides in English. This time, we’ve focused on distribution (online and offline) resources.

  • Video Compression Guide. If you want to understand how you can make your videos fit into different offline/online distribution formats (DVD, online video, etc.), this guide will be a useful resource for you.
  • A Guide to Video Distribution Sites. This guide takes a comprehensive look at available and popular video hosting sites (Youtube, Vimeo, archive.org, Bambuser) and compares them on functionality, privacy options and other categories that would make it easier for you to select which one to use to distribute your videos online.
  • How to Host a Film Screening. One of the most effective ways for you to have more people see your videos is to host a film screening. This guide takes you through the steps and processes of hosting your own film screening successfully. More than that, this resource talks about how film screenings can be incorporated into an advocacy strategy for your campaigns.

The development of these guides, including all the ones we’ve published in the last two years, is part of the Video4Change network’s commitment to supporting the work of video activists, and the strategic use of video in advocacy and campaigning. We will be producing more guides in the future.
