Zen was born and raised in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. She has eight years of experience as a junior accountant and administrative staff in the private sector and as an associate administrative officer for internal control in the development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Her areas of expertise are in financial management, general administration, and internal controls.

Zen graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting Technology and Accountancy. As a student leader, she advocated for mental health. Previously, she was the president of the Peer Facilitator’s Club, an organisation that promotes mental health awareness and team building.

She supports women empowerment and believes that women are not defined by their physical attributes, and are significant contributors for the betterment of society.
