Born and based in Bangkok, Thailand, Yawee Butrkrawee has over seven years of experience working in and with government, international nonprofits, media, and think tanks. His work experience includes grant management and program coordination and implementation.

Over the years, Yawee has also contributed to a number of development and human rights projects through advocacy and evidence-based research on issues related to freedom of expression. His areas of expertise include internet freedoms, digital rights, media freedoms, and anti-fake news laws in Southeast Asia.

Yawee holds a master’s degree in development studies from SOAS, University of London.
