To be held from January 12 to 14, 2023, the Asia-Pacific Digital Rights Forum will feature panel discussions and breakout sessions tackling key digital rights issues, with the aim of creating spaces for collaboration among changemakers in the region.
Digital rights actors from Indonesia stressed the need to collaborate with a wider network of organisations outside Jakarta and learn from the success stories of past human rights movements to strengthen digital rights advocacy in the country.
During the forum held last November 22 and 23, participants stressed the need for civil society groups to take on a more active role in policy discussions to ensure that internet freedom and digital rights are safeguarded.
Organised by EngageMedia in partnership with SAFENet, the two-day forum in Jakarta on November 24 and 25 will discuss key issues in the country’s digital rights landscape.
Representing Asia-Pacific changemakers working in the digital rights movement, EngageMedia will host a town hall session and lightning talk on data justice and improving data protection laws through grassroots learnings.
