EngageMedia at Climate Camp

During Climate Camp, being held in Newcastle between the 10th and 15th of July, 2008, a diverse group of concerned people have converged to protest the damage being caused to the global climate by the coal industry.

EngageMedia Workshops in Bandung and Yogyakarta

In June 2008 EngageMedia held workshops in the cities of Bandung and Yogyakarta on the island of Java in Indonesia. The workshops involved practical online video training, an introduction to FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) tools for video distribution online, a discussion about online distro in Indonesia, and a report-back from the Transmission Asia-Pacific meeting in Sukabumi in May 2008.

Plumi 0.2 Released

EngageMedia have recently announced the release of Plumi 0.2, the free software video sharing platform. Plumi enables you to create a sophisticated video sharing and community site out-of-the-box. In a web landscape where almost all video sharing sites keep their distribution platform under lock and key Plumi is one contribution to creating a truly democratic media.

A new African video-based website using Plumi software and other Plone customisations claims to be “the first Television online for Africa and its diaspora”.
